John Thomson

Preaching Minister

I grew up in south central Kansas and came to know God in the church my family was a part of there. While I was in High School, I felt that God was leading me to serve in full time ministry. After High School I went to Ozark Christian College and received a bachelor’s degree from there. I also met my wife Jill at Ozark. Jill and I have 4 children: Meghan, Samantha, Katie, and Christopher.
After college, I worked full time at the cafeteria at Ozark and supply preached at churches in the area. I also have served in ministries in Athens, Illinois, and Painesville, Ohio, spending several years in both of the churches I served. My family was called to come to serve in Footville in June of 2007 as preaching minister.
I enjoy many things including fishing, golfing, gardening, & paintball. I love going to serve at Rock River Christian Camp each year for its paintball camp. I also have enjoyed going to Haiti and Honduras on missions trips. Canoeing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area has been really fun to do as well.
I love to learn from God’s Word and from others who spend time in the Word to discover who God is and to get to know Him. That’s why one of my favorite sections of the Bible is from the book of Philippians. It says
But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing  Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ–the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.  I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. – Philippians 3:7-11

Deanna Hoeft

I have been a born again Christian since my youth. I have been blessed to grow up in a family that believed and taught about God everyday. I have been in ministry since graduating from Rock County Christian School. I have organized and led a young adults group and taught in kids church. Five years were spent teaching the middle school age and third grade level. My education includes a semester at YWAM’s Discipleship Training School, a semester study abroad in Spain, and School of Education at UW – Whitewater.
A few of my hobbies include, walking outdoors with companions, digging in the dirt to beautify my landscaping and gathering the produce from my garden. I love spending time in God’s great outdoors in every season. A great pastime is playing card games and enjoying good conversation with others. I also enjoy working on crafts and reading a good historical fiction novel. I am happy to help others.
