John Thomson

Preaching Minister

I grew up in south central Kansas and came to know God in the church my family was a part of there. While I was in High School, I felt that God was leading me to serve in full time ministry. After High School I went to Ozark Christian College and received a bachelor’s degree from there. I also met my wife Jill at Ozark. Jill and I have 4 children: Meghan, Samantha, Katie, and Christopher.

After college, I worked full time at the cafeteria at Ozark and supply preached at churches in the area. I also have served in ministries in Athens, Illinois, and Painesville, Ohio, spending several years in both of the churches I served. My family was called to come to serve in Footville in June of 2007 as preaching minister.

I enjoy many things including fishing, golfing, gardening, & paintball. I love going to serve at Rock River Christian Camp each year for its paintball camp. I also have enjoyed going to Haiti and Honduras on missions trips. Canoeing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area has been really fun to do as well.

I love to learn from God’s Word and from others who spend time in the Word to discover who God is and to get to know Him. That’s why one of my favorite sections of the Bible is from the book of Philippians. It says

But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing  Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ–the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.  I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. – Philippians 3:7-11

Cole Osborne

Youth & Family Minister

I grew up in a rural portion of west-central Indiana, only a few miles from the Illinois border. I gave my life to Christ through baptism in 2002 at my home church in Danville, Illinois. I graduated from Seeger High School in West Lebanon Indiana in 2012. I knew from a young age I was being called into full-time ministry which led me to Johnson University in Knoxville Tennessee where I earned a Bachelors of Science in The Bible, and Preaching and Church Leadership in 2016. I met my beautiful bride Raquel while attending Johnson University and we were married in June of 2016.

I enjoy playing my guitar, golfing, woodworking, and watching too much Netflix with my wife.

My favorite Bible verse is 2 Corinthians 3:2 “You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all.”

Tracy Anderson

Secretary

I am the church secretary here at Footville Church of Christ. I started here in August of 2012. I have been attending church here since January 2005. I have two children, Jared and Logan. Both boys were baptized here in Footville. I became a member after Logan was baptized in 2009 (he didn’t want to be the only one who wasn’t a member).

I attend bible school on Sunday mornings and am a part of the Odds N Ends Class. I volunteer in Wee Church and am the Bible School Assistant Superintendent. I substitute in the nursery when there is an opening (just because I love the little ones!).

I love attending church here. This is home for me and my boys. I was born in Freeport, Illinois. I attended school in multiple locations around Wisconsin, Illinois and Oklahoma. I hold two state licenses, one for Cosmetology and one for Massage Therapy. I work in a clinic in Fitchburg providing massage therapy besides working here at the church.

Besides working, I love spending time with my boys and my family. Some of my passions in life include: reading, crafting, sewing, hiking, animals, spending time with friends, smiling, and humor.
